Laser Therapy

Laser light is a highly focused light beam with a specific wave length. The dentist Dres. Zimny and Dr. Zimny-Schattling have a diode laser with a wave length of 980 nm in their practice.

The laser is mainly used in Periodontitis therapy and in Peri-Implantitis for periodontal pocket disinfection. One of the main factors in periodontitis is the colonization of the periodontal pockets with periodontal pathogens. The laser light is used to gently decontaminate the previously mechanically cleaned root surfaces and gum pockets, and the bacteria responsible for periodontitis can be specifically eliminated by the laser light.

The diode laser has established itself excellently in all areas of dentistry where the focus is on combating biofilms.
